Who we are

Stepora is an AI homework tutor app. It is operated by PEAK SALES DİJİTAL PAZARLAMA SATIŞ VE DIŞ TİCARET LTD. ŞTİ., Istanbul, Türkiye. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

Account: a random device identifier created by the app; if you register, your email address and password (stored only as a hash); an optional name; country, language, school level, grade, target exams, time zone and explanation level you choose.

Study content: the photos and texts of questions you submit, the solutions we generate, your answers in practice, photos of your handwritten work if you send them, chat messages, flashcard progress and mastery statistics.

Subscription: whether Stepora Pro is active and until when (received from Apple through RevenueCat). We never see card details.

Technical: server logs (IP address, time, errors) kept for a limited time to run and protect the service; a push token if you allow notifications.

How your questions are processed

To read and solve a question, its photo or text is sent to Anthropic (Claude models), which also independently checks every answer, writes practice questions, topic pages and chat replies. To read a solution aloud, the solution text is sent to OpenAI (text-to-speech).

We send only the study content. Your name and email address are never sent to any AI provider. These providers process the data on our behalf under their API terms and do not use it to train their models.

Measuring our ads

We advertise Stepora on platforms such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram), TikTok and Apple Search Ads. To learn which ad brought a new user, the app uses the measurement service AppsFlyer. It is started only if you chose high school, university or adult as your level; for primary and middle school levels it is never started and nothing is sent.

On iPhone the advertising identifier (IDFA) is read only if you tap “Allow” in Apple’s tracking prompt; you can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android the Google advertising ID is used the same way and can be reset or deleted in Android settings.

AppsFlyer receives: the advertising identifier (if allowed), device model, operating system, IP address, app installs and opens, and the moments you finish setup, start a trial or subscription, or reach your second and third solution; subscription payments (amount and currency) come from RevenueCat. It never receives your questions, photos, name or email. AppsFlyer tells the ad platform that showed the ad which campaign led to the install, so the platform can measure its ads.

What we do not do

No ads inside the app and no selling of data. Your questions, photos, name and email are never shared with advertising or measurement services, and your questions are never shown to other users.

Other service providers

Apple App Store and RevenueCat (subscriptions), AppsFlyer (ad measurement, see above), Resend (password-reset emails), Expo push service (notifications, if enabled), Cloudflare (network security and delivery). All account and study data is stored on servers operated by us.

How long we keep data

Your question photos and solutions stay in your history until you delete them or your account. Deleting a question removes its photo and audio. Deleting your account removes everything immediately; backups are overwritten within 14 days. Anonymous usage counters without content (e.g. number of AI calls and their cost) may be kept for accounting.

Your choices and rights

Delete any question in History. Delete your whole account in the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. To get a copy of your data or correct it, email us; we answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, KVKK, CCPA) you may also object, restrict processing or complain to your data protection authority.

Exam preparation

If you use “Prepare for an exam”, the files you upload (photos, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, text), your teacher’s notes, the mock exams generated for you, your answers and photos of your written answers are stored for that exam only. To read your material, write and check practice exams and grade your written answers they are sent to Anthropic; to read your last-minute summary aloud its text is sent to OpenAI. Delete a material, an exam or your account and its files are deleted immediately.

Children

Stepora is an education app for students; it is not in the Kids category. If you are younger than the age of digital consent in your country (13 in the US, up to 16 in the EU), use Stepora only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly collect more than what is described here.

Web payments (Paddle)

If you subscribe on steporaai.com, Paddle.com (Paddle.com Market Ltd, UK) processes the payment as Merchant of Record. Paddle receives your email, country, postcode and payment details and handles invoices, taxes and refunds under its own privacy notice (paddle.com/legal/privacy). We receive from Paddle only the subscription status, plan, renewal dates and a customer ID; we never see your full card details. To link the subscription to your Stepora account we send Paddle your email and an internal account ID.

Website cookies and ad pixels

steporaai.com uses essential cookies (session, your cookie choice). Only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner do we load the Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, which set their own cookies and tell Meta and TikTok that you visited, entered your email, opened checkout or started a trial, so they can measure our ads. Our server then also sends these events (start of trial, payments) to Meta’s Conversions API and TikTok’s Events API with your email and account ID in hashed (SHA-256) form, your IP address, browser user agent and the ad click identifiers. If you click “Reject” nothing is loaded or sent. If you choose primary or middle school in our questionnaire, no ad event is sent at all, even with consent. You can change your choice anytime with “Cookie settings” in the footer.

We also save the ad campaign that brought you (UTM tags, click IDs) with your web checkout to understand which ads work.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above; significant changes are announced in the app.
